About the role
Job Overview: The Facade Design Engineer will be responsible for the drafting and design of various facade systems, including unitized, semi-unitized, aluminium cladding, and stone cladding. This role requires precision in creating detailed shop and fabrication drawings and generating Bills of Material (BOM) for all designs. The engineer will also conduct regular site and factory inspections to ensure compliance with specifications and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drafting and Design:
- Develop detailed drawings for facade systems such as unitized and semi-unitized systems, aluminium cladding, and stone cladding.
- Prepare shop drawings and fabrication drawings, ensuring all necessary details are accurately represented.
- Bill of Materials (BOM):
- Generate comprehensive BOMs for all shop drawings and fabrication drawings to ensure all materials and components are specified for procurement and installation.
- Inspection:
- Conduct site inspections to oversee the installation of facade systems, ensuring adherence to design specifications and safety standards.
- Perform factory inspections to check the quality of materials and fabrication processes, ensuring they meet project requirements and industry standards.
- Project Coordination:
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, and contractors to ensure that the facade designs are integrated seamlessly with the structural and aesthetic elements of the building.
- Address any design modifications based on site conditions and client feedback.
- Quality Control and Compliance:
- Ensure all facade designs comply with local building codes and safety regulations.
- Implement quality control measures to maintain high standards in facade design and installation.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
- Proven experience in facade design, with expertise in drafting, material specification, and BOM generation.
- Strong knowledge of industry standards and building codes.
- Proficient in CAD software and other engineering tools:
